This project is designed to provide information to young people between the ages of 12 and 16 about potential online privacy risks and to facilitate cross-generational dialogues surrounding digital media literacy. While organizing workshops designed to inform young people about potential online privacy risks we create opportunities for young people to voice their own privacy concerns to educators, researchers and parents. It is through increased understanding and cross-generational collaboration that strategies to navigate online environments safely and productively can be negotiated. Our overarching goal is to provide some of the digital literacy skills necessary to safely and productively navigate an increasingly complex digital environment.
